Disney 100 Exhibition Mural & Signage – Chicago, Il

When you wish upon a star… sometimes you end up painting 800 square feet of Disney magic in the middle of Chicago.
This one meant the world to me. As a kid running wild around Philly with a spray can in hand, I wasn’t dreaming about mural commissions. I was just trying to make my mark. But this project, part of Disney’s 100th anniversary exhibition, brought things full circle in a way I never saw coming. It wasn’t just a job. It was a moment. A wish granted.
The Disney 100 Exhibition mural and signage package was the largest single project I’ve ever taken on, by far. Between the wall murals and the oversized signage elements, the scale of the work more than doubled anything I’d completed before. Some of the signs were 30 feet tall, and the murals had to be executed with absolute precision. This was client-provided design, meaning my role was to bring every pixel of the official artwork to life at full scale with perfect fidelity.
The technical demands were serious. I painted across four drastically different surfaces, from flat masonry to rough stone blocks that bulged outward and disrupted perspective. Some sections were high up on corrugated metal, with multiple textures coming together in a single area. Navigating all that while keeping the integrity of the characters and scenes intact was a puzzle I was proud to solve.
Despite the challenges, this was pure joy. Being trusted with something as iconic and deeply loved as Disney’s legacy is not something I take lightly. As someone who has always admired the creative ecosystem Disney represents, it felt like a real milestone. To contribute to an experience that would spark wonder and nostalgia for so many people, especially families and kids, was a massive honor.
This project still stands as one of the clearest examples of what I strive to bring to any collaboration. Technical execution, artistic respect, and a sense of storytelling that connects people to place.
If you’re seeking a mural artist with professional experience across large-scale projects, brand-aligned design implementation, and complex surfaces, this mural in Chicago is one I’d point to first. It captures what I love most about this work. And it reminds me how far a little creative energy can go when it meets the right opportunity.
